PAVER SAFETY BACKER

Paver Safety Backers are required when installing outdoor 2CM porcelain pavers on the Bison Level.Up Paver Support System. They provide protection in the event of paver breakage, while also providing added impact resistance and support to the paver.

Made of lightweight galvanized steel, the Paver Safety Backers are adhered to the back of each outdoor 2CM porcelain paver with polyurethane construction adhesive.

While it is not mandated by code, Bison REQUIRES the use of metal Level.Up Paver Safety Backers when installing 2CM outdoor porcelain pavers. 2CM porcelain pavers are around ¾ of an inch thick versus thicker concrete pavers or wood tiles. The Safety Backers are glued to the back of the 2CM paver using polyurethane adhesive. Their purpose is to provide breakthrough protection if the paver breaks or cracks. They also provide added impact resistance and support.
